ADAM'S ART MANIFESTO:
I JUST WANNA HAVE FUN!
By Adam Cerny
**MATURE CONTENT**R-Rated**YOU'VE BEEN WARNED**
(The following video contains brief nudity + adult humor)
I've become fascinated with different ways people view themselves in relation to the world around them. Through people like Danielle LaPorte, Marianne Williamson, and heaps of meditation, I saw life. It's a linear, to-the-point, loving, and fair way of envisioning ourselves. How do we interrelate to the world? My exploration of my core desired feelings led me to ask some questions.
Adam - where the hell do you get off posting slutty music videos of you appearing like a wayward whore? Is that the content you want to broadcast out to the world? Is this what you desire people to think of you?
After thinking for awhile about these questions and how they move me, I knew the response. "I would articulate that I don't give a shit what people think. But let's be honest...I care a great deal about what people think. Most people do!" This was my inner dialogue.
I understood that when you enjoy doing something so often, there's not a need for you to defend it. But there also comes a point when you need to guard and set the record straight. This is when I recall Marisa Tomei in "My Cousin Vinny" giving her awesome testimony. This is the one time I'll give an explanation to and defend what I love to do.
What do I love to do? I love to have fun. What do you want, Adam? I want to have fun. I want fun. I. Want. Fun. At this point, I don't want to break down the meaning any farther than that. I want to drip with fun.
This is when I recognized that I defend and love performing these videos because they make me happy. Perhaps it has little to do with you, but I believe it has a lot to do with the "audience". It's fun to perform. To get booed at. And get cheered on. It's fun to create. It's fun to look sexy. It's fun to look goofy. It's fun to not wear clothes, sometimes. It's fun to know I'm free enough in my soul to admit it. And that's all! LOL! Nothing more profound.
Thank you so much for reading and watching! Spread the love. Have fun. As trite as this sounds, live in the most authentic way you can. :-)
-Adam xoxo
