ADAM'S TRANSFORMATION: PART ONE by Adam Cerny
trans·for·ma·tion
*Based on a true story. Or, is it?*
As German-American poet, Charles Bukowski, stated, "We’re all going to die, all of us, what a circus! That alone should make us love each other but it doesn’t. We are terrorized and flattened by trivialities, we are eaten up by nothing."
Part one of a two-part series, part one explores the transformation process. The character of Adam is someone I relate to. I used to believe that I could change the world and make it a better place. Art, taking a stance, fighting for a cause, raising awareness. Giving myself over to other people. My belief had such fervor that I'd often lose myself in this conquest. We are a blip on the radar of the Universe. The Moon has more influence over the world than any one person or group of individuals. I came to realize that this collective goal we share is an utter waste of our time. We see this same scenario play out in our society. "Let's help everyone but ourselves."
We allow trivialities to shrink us. We grant permission to ourselves to run from nothing. We become spectral. Lost to ourselves. We create ghosts that roam around in our minds, and yes, it is haunting. Like Adam, I now believe that one cannot change the world. While it's a provocative and elitist goal, I can't find it workable. So, I want to mirror a new goal that plays out through the character of Adam. "I want to change myself." Now, that statement holds more weight. It's workable. It's a start.
I will always believe that humanity, as a collective, has the potential to shift the grid. Due to societal conditioning, I can't see this ever coming to fruition, though. Only if we all go back to home base and redesign our blueprint. If all were to do this, we could then branch out together. This is why I've separated my work into Part One and Part Two. Day and Night. Light and Dark. Anima and Animus. Yin and Yang. If we don't have a point of contrast to recognize, then how will we ever know how to transform?
This film only scratches the surface of what's available to us. Sometimes, we are the enemy. Our own enemy. Yet, rarely, are we ever our own best friend or lover. We nurture our enemies more than our comrades. The goal is not to learn, but to unlearn. Strip ourselves bare for ourselves to look at and examine. Only then can real change begin.
Thank you so much for watching!
