What is an INDIGO CHILD? When I first heard the term “indigo child”, I thought of a female band, Indigo Girls, from the 1990s. Completely unaware of the term and the logic behind it. The actual term “indigo” comes from the color of the sixth chakra (energy center). Some call this the third eye chakra. 

Through my exploration, I have found that I am an INDIGO CHILD. I always have been. There was such a relief in my soul when I discovered this. It reassured me I was not crazy. I have been exuding the qualities of an “indigo” and no one thought to tell me. I have broken up my exploration into two categories: SADNESS & HAPPINESS. Yes, this is an inspiration from one of my favorite Disney films, Inside Out. The following video is part one. Exploration of sadness through the eyes of an INDIGO CHILD. 

I like to think of two perspectives when answering, “what is an indigo?”. The spiritual version and the nonspiritual version. This caters to all audiences in the way of their lens. The nonspiritual view of indigo people is “gifted souls”. They have a sense of a goal or mission, are intelligent and exude creativity. The spiritual view of indigo people is that they are "old souls" with great spiritual depth. Indigo people are not more spiritual than others. They do own a different genre of depth and wisdom inside of them.

What traits do child and adult indigos have? 

-Intelligent

-Want to know WHY when asked to do something

-May have problems with rage or anger

-Reject authority OR dare to go against the grain to avoid required and repetitious tasks

-May have depression, feelings of helplessness or suicidal feelings at a young age into adulthood

-Have deep emotional EMPATHY for others or be sensitive

-Have a craving or need to change the world for the better or believe this is their path

-Have strong intuition

-Have psychic or spiritual tendencies that usually appear at a young age (premonitions, hearing voices, seeing angels or ghosts, etc.)

-May have Attention Deficit Disorder or trouble focusing on tasks

-Sexually, they are expressive and explore different types of sexuality without fear

-Usually born after the year 1980

PART ONE: SADNESS. This video is just ONE way of looking through the eye of an indigo. It’s MY lens. Everything is open to interpretation, so please take from this what you will. There is no right or wrong way of viewing sadness. Disney taught me this from Inside Out. LOL! It means different things to different people. 

Just promise me you can remind yourself at the end of the video that I am okay. This is a performance piece. It's acting. I feel that I have to remind people of this. ART is art. I'm a happy and sad person, as all tend to be. Our ups and downs create the roller coaster of life, and I want to speak to the darkest and lightest parts of our soul. The things we don't say out loud sometimes lead us more than we think.

I've been in creative hibernation for almost a month now. Sometimes, life happens. I've never been one to create for the sake of creating. That's when work becomes stale and it's obvious not only to the audience but to myself. To quote my character "Chad", I only want to put something out there if it's inspired.

But, yet, I've been in inspiration overload. I am finding places, people, memories, thoughts, events, music, etc.. that have been feeding me with so much inspiration. I had to sit and gather my thoughts before I went forward to release anything. Otherwise, I would be releasing a word vomit frenzy of content. 

This PRELUDE is an introduction of what's to come. It's a peak inside my creative mind for the past month or so. 

It's funny to look back one year ago and see what kind of content I was releasing. I was saturated in the "selfie culture".  Explaining my work down to the smallest detail became the norm. I feel more playful, more colorful, and a lack of responsibility in what I release. It's fun to not take myself so seriously. I tell it for everyone! 

I am much more than the music video montages I create. I live beyond the self-referential characters I dive into. Things are about to get even crazier, but not in a volatile way. I prefer to this of this as a controlled and spiritual mania. Thanks for riding this with me. I'm excited for what is brewing and what's to come!

The state of being naive, innocent, or inexperienced in a particular context

While I do not want to divulge too many details of this short autobiographical event, I do want to dispel the thought that I'm referring to my sexual virginity. I am not. I am referring to a moment in my life where I lost my innocence in a particular area of love. 

This video lives somewhere between reality and fantasy. Fact and fiction. It's up to your interpretation, but I hope you do take something away from this. The below video outline will guide you through the story:

-SIX MONTHS AGO - Presurgery. Virginity lost. Reflecting on trauma and my memories that can potentially be LOST forever.
-ONE YEAR AGO - Presurgery. Virginity is intact and slowly fading. Fighting. Love. CHAOS.
-SIX MONTHS LATER - Scientist going into surgery. Explaining the surgical process. Deconstruction, rebuilding, and decompression. Scars, trauma, and tattoos of pain have been surgically removed.
-PRESENT DAY - Post-surgery. Virginity lost. Postmortem and reflection. Moving on and forward. 

Thank you for reading and watching. I hope that you can take something positive away from this experience. Losing your virginity (in the context of this video) is actually a gain of knowledge. Confidence and love can grow from the recovery.

This is the second and final teaser before the full first episode is revealed. Episode One: Cancellation (Opening Sequence) introduces us to the haunted and creepy Motel Hortez (Hotel Cortez, anyone?). John Doe (Adam Cerny), is introduced as the latest case of mishaps and misfortunes at the Hortez. 

The full episode (soon to come) will introduce two new characters in the present day, played by Derek Lamar and Becca Meumann Johnson. While you will find some similarities between this and the current FX show, this stands alone as a fun parody and tribute. Try to not take it too seriously. Have some fun. ;-)

I realize that I am pushing the envelope with this video. I am hoping that everyone reads this accompanying blog post so they can be in the correct frame of mind to interpret what I'm attempting to convey.

Let's first discuss PORNOGRAPHY. This word derives from the Greek etymology. Depictions of sexual nature are older than civilization and date back to prehistoric times. There is a plethora of pornography genres:
-Amateur pornography
-Ethnic pornography
-Fetish pornography
-Group sex
-Reality pornography
-Straight porn
-Gay pornography
-Lesbian pornography
-Bisexual pornography

IS THIS A HARMLESS PASTIME OR A PERNICIOUS ADDICTION?

"SMUT" can fall into this category. "SMUT" defines as "erotic fiction or art". Hence the reason I am branding this a smutty film. Yes, it can infer filthy, inappropriate, gratuitous...or tamer than we expected.

The main difference between the two is that Pornography (little plot with and sexually explicit) gears toward men and Smut (comic, written form, romance books) gears towards women. 

What happens when the two COMBINE forces? That's what happened in the early 1990s when Kate Moss and Johnny Depp became the cultural symbol and catalyst for the "90's cool grunge" lifestyle. LOVE between celebrities was no longer in crowded areas but became worn out in hotel rooms. 

Freely and carelessly living out love is absurd and inappropriate for some people. Kate and Johnny were admired for this though because they were bright and eccentric. Rarely would you find the two without a cigarette - hence the use of heavy smoking in this film.

I am excited to show you ADAM: PART THREE. The audience has a deep-dive look into me through this concluding installment. I have always considered this a trilogy.

ADAM: PART ONE https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tRLpR_c-BxI was about having a lot of fun. I introduced a concept of oneself as their own favorite topic. We know ourselves better than any outsider. I also introduce a concept that I like to follow. "Living halfway between reality and fantasy". 

ADAM: PART TWO https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kZlgSNJ812o was a bit "preachy", you could say. I put a lot of opinions and statements on how I feel about certain issues. At the same time, I was pulling back the curtain on myself. If anything, this installment was a bit more in the real world. 

ADAM: PART THREE follows and ends the trilogy. I know that I am going to upset a lot of people based on the PG-13 content of brief nudity and language. It can seem like "shock art" and abrasive. Please know that those reactions are not my intention. 

It's time to get real and dispel illusions I've created through these video installments. I've asked you to not get too "heady", and if you've done that...this film will make sense to you.

You can't please everyone: you will either love it or hate it. Either way, I'd like to hear your thoughts. My goal was to spark a movement. A movement of love. A personal manifesto and guide that I follow in my own life.

"When Life Gives You Lemons...Make Lemonade", right? I've heard many variations on the theme. I won't try to come up with my own because I'm almost sure it wouldn't be that humorous. I try not to make too much light of this phrase because its message rings true every time. 

This quick 4-minute film came together in one day. This was a means to help distract me from something that was sucking energy from my life. Let me rephrase that - I was allowing this event to suck energy from my life. 

Please don't flag the alarms. Nothing life-altering is shattering. Simply enough - I'm making Lemonade. I'm choosing to reassess the way I receive, interpret and deal with unhappy news. 

At the end of the day - I can always feel better by creating something artistic and visual. That's the part of myself that makes me the happiest - creating and telling stories.

For those of you who know me quite well, this video and blog post shouldn't come as much of a surprise. It's well known among my tribe that I have been an avid scary movie fan since childhood.

Freddy Kreuger, Jason Voorhees, Michael Myers, Ghostface Killer and Jeremy Melton. From VALENTINE, for those of you hardcore genre buffs. A plethora of other horror movie antagonists stands out in my mind. More so for their effect on pop culture in its respective time than for its scary factor. These are icons that I grew up with and have come to love. 

"SAY YOUR PRAYERS: Prologue" is not exploring any new territory whatsoever. This is me playing around with scary ideas, sounds, imagery and implication. It's what we do not see that is most terrifying. But don't worry - whatever happens in the dark will come to light. 

**Based on True Events** But ARE they ever? What embellishment has gone into sprucing up the story for a target audience? I'll leave this up to you to decide.

The last few weeks of my life have been quite a wonderful series of fated events. I don't have much to say otherwise. I

have had a lot of FUN, and that's different for me to say. Usually, I'm dealing with some kind of crisis...like one after another...but these past few weeks have been nothing less than magical.

Thank you for everyone who unknowingly contributed to making the last few weeks such a dream.

ADAM: Part One

ADAM: Part One

The concept behind this piece is quite simple: the concept is MYSELF. Do any of you know who I am, what I believe in and stand for? How much of what you see is reality and how much of it is fantasy? I’ll never answer those questions for you. Art is meant to be open to interpretation, and I’d hate to fill in all the ugly holes with an explanation. 



As Lady Gaga says: “The lie of it all is more truthful because I invented it.” I, too, like to live in a place that’s halfway between reality and fantasy. Some realities are too desolate, hence the reason I need to be immersed in creative arts. 

This is only the beginning of me pulling back the veil ever so slightly and carefully. Please do not reach too much into what you see in the following video. That will defeat the purpose of the experience I want you to go through. YOU ALSO MISS THE WHOLE JOKE...SO DON'T GET ALL HEADY ON ME, lovers. ;-)

Summer Solstice & Father’s Day Thoughts by Adam Cerny

He is the reason I'm now addicted to back massages!

Happy Summer Solstice, everyone! I always love when this midsummer date approaches because it feels bewitching. How can the longest day of the year not be?

Happy Father’s Day to all fathers. I am including fathers-to-be too. (Side-note: how exciting! For all you fathers-to-be..) This has traditionally been a tough day for me. 

One word I am quite familiar with is, “Papa”. This was my name of my maternal grandfather, John.

Happy Father’s Day, Papa!

Papa is with me every day, even though he passed away in 2008. My life changed when his physical body left the earth. I realized that his lingering vigor of love and passion has remained everywhere. His energy is all around me and present. I hope to someday be the amazing man he is and always was. I idolize him in so many ways. How did he make everything appear so easy? This is rhetorical, of course. He was amazing in all areas of life because he never had to try to be amazing. Papa was born that way. He unified with those admirable qualities. He is always my guardian angel.

I am elated for all you guys out there who are waiting to be a dad (delivery). How exciting! My joy is with you. I send my best wishes to you and all current fathers and grandfathers.

Most of all, I send my love to Papa. Thank you for being the best thing in my life. In my old age (because I promise to live over the age of 100), I will always be able to look back and know that I spent the first 23 years of my life with an angel who loved me.
