💔Unrequited love. That brooding sorrowfully conflicted feeling in the gut of your soul. Punched.💔

There is really no shortcut to forgetting someone you love; you just have to endure missing them every day, until you don’t anymore. You always end up hurting the ones you love the most. It’s strange what desire will make foolish people do.

We’re the “foolish” people. We are programmed to go after that which we cannot have. We’ve made people into objects. I’m not saying it’s right or wrong, because there’s no such thing as “right” or “wrong”; not really. It’s all subjective. The part that destroys one’s soul is the feeling of being betrayed by the party involved who doesn’t reciprocate the “love”.

90% of the time, I’d say, the situation just IS. However, there are emotional terrorists out there who will pounce on the hearts of those they target. They don’t betray you because they are done with you, lovers. They betray you because they were taught early on to betray themselves. Nothing they do or say to you is personal… it’s a direct reflection of how they feel about themselves. People who purposely “break hearts” are deeply wounded individuals who haven’t properly dealt with the abuse + trauma they’ve faced in their lives. They play power games because they felt powerless to their own abuser. They betray you because they had to betray themselves in order to satisfy their abuser, whom they were very dependent on.

They haven’t developed into a mature adult yet. They haven’t learned mature character traits like integrity, honesty, faithfulness, and fairness. They have matured enough to realize that there is a connection between their actions + your feelings because they are completely cut off from their emotional self. These people aren’t really surviving… they’re dying. They’re miserable. They’re unhappy.

So, no. It’s not because they are done with you. It’s NOT because you aren’t worthy of being loved, because, you ARE worthy. It’s because THEY haven’t put in the effort to learn another way of being.

April 20th + Earth Day makes me feel as connected to Mother Nature as I'll ever be. There is a pulse, a rhythm, to this beautifully symbiotic relationship. Us + Earth + Nature.

I'm a Sun-Earth sign, Taurus. I've felt a deep connection to our physical world from before the age of two. My earliest memories are of playing in the rain. I was obsessed with baths, swimming pools, thunder + rainstorms. This could have a lot to do with my Scorpio Ascendant sign. Water + Earth.

I've always viewed Marijuana as a gift given to us by the Earth, Source, God, Spirit, Mother Nature... whatever esoteric belief system you subscribe to, insert "name". While I understand why some people are adamantly against Marijuana (because I have empathy), I certainly do not agree. I've seen Marijuana provide pain + healing relief to people whose lives have changed for the better because of it. And, let's be honest, it's just an herb. It's time to stop demonizing the gift of Marijuana and start relishing in the natural medicinal benefits it was always meant to provide to us.

I've separated this visual + auditory art piece into two segments: IRRESISTIBLE + DADDY ISSUES (because Lord knows I have them! So do most of you, if not, Mommy Issues).

I have an excellent relationship with the real world, but I live in fantasy. Here's where things can get tricky for me. I'm often caught in a conflict of my authenticity, my need to express imagination, and searching for some inner meaning in it all to validate my efforts. I have a terribly sardonic sense of humor, and that offends some people. Please know that it is never my intention to step on anyone's moral compass or belief system.

I'll always draw to the dark. Yet, unlike the majority of people in my circle, I like to shine a light on the darkness. Expose it. That's where the real fun begins. So - this is me. For you.

BEHIND THE SCENES WITH ADAM: EPISODE 3 (Neverland + Rock of Ages + Post-Show Depression)

Post-show depression. I've suffered from this since 5th grade's production of, "The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe." I played the younger brother, Edmund. The one who goes off with that evil Queen, enticing him with Turkish delights. When the world of Narnia closed, I went into a "chewing the scenery" 10-year-old depression. This emotional pattern has repeated itself with every show I've done since.

"Peter and the Starcatcher" is going to be a hard show to put to bed. Working with the QC Theatre Workshop is always a dream. It has always been a collaborative + artistic experience. This show, in particular, is a true ensemble piece. If one piece of the puzzle is missing, the story cannot play out. That's what theatre is to me. Storytellers coming together to make something much larger than themselves. There's nothing better than hearing an audience member say, "Hey, that meant something to me!"

This video features behind-the-scenes moments during "Peter and the Starcatcher". Jess Denney + Keenen Wilson make cameos. As you'll be able to see, Keenen and I had the most fun every night dressing up as mermaids for the Act 2 opener.

Post-show depression sets in. A line from the show changed my whole perspective on how I approach the end. It's something I'd like for you ponder on and think about. "No! It's supposed to hurt - that's how you know it meant something! This isn't the end. You're going to remember everything, every single detail -"

It ties in with post-show depression and how I prepare my body for the next project.

This past weekend was Mother's Day, so my brother Ryan came in from Chicago to visit + celebrate. He brought his Nintendo Switch console with him. This is when the magic begins.

It's been a long time since I've played video games. If you want to count the Guitar Hero 5 for the Wii Commercial I filmed in 2009, then go for it. But truly - it has been since 1996 or so. My brother and I used to spend HOURS playing N64 Mario Kart back in the day.

Long story short - we spent the whole day playing Nintendo Switch. It's insanely fun. It's wild. It's innovative. It's NEXT LEVEL! It was like 1996 all over again. Brother bonding time. I loved every second of it and had to share my experience.

BEHIND THE SCENES WITH ADAM: EPISODE 1 by Adam Cerny

The cover art to this episode is hilarious. If you were you look at it, you'd see fire, and what looks to be a girl who wants to have sex. Right? Obviously, I'm a dude. I could grow my natural hair to that length, but it's not a good look on me. The colors remind me of the 1980s rock band, Dokken. Singing, they split up in 1989. I'm still a huge fan, though. The body is all me. The point is this: the cover art is hilarious because it's everything I'm not. It's all make-believe, playing pretend, and storytelling. Why? Because it's fun!

Rarely do we, as audiences have an opportunity to peek behind the curtain. Self-transparency can be fun. Peeking behind the curtain is, dare I say, kind of naughty? I love watching "Behind the Scenes" documentaries because I appreciate the honesty. I can look at that person and say, "Wow, they aren't so different from me." We're all human. We're all alike, yet, so different.

Unbeknownst to them, the very talented Ashley Renée + Jonathan Regier lent their skills. I love telling stories with people who are...real people. These two are fun. I also want to give a big shoutout to Triller, ROLR, and Smule Sing! Those iOS apps have made me look much cooler than I am.

I hope you enjoy this quickie. Episode 2 should be coming shortly. I have so many ideas that need to come to fruition. Even if it's for me. It's always nice to humor at least one person, though.

It has to do with the way we live and the way we love. Beauty has to do with the way we carry ourselves and carry those who can’t carry themselves. Your body is a work of art that does not need to be cut and pasted. We all need to embrace our uniqueness. Imagine our world where children grow up loving every inch of themselves, never hating what they saw in the mirror.
